We’re celebrating Alexander S., an outstanding Behavior Interventionist, who is passionate about students and helping them succeed. 

<h3>Why did you become a BII?</h3>
<p>When I transitioned to the education industry in 2023, I worked as a teacher's assistant for a small private school in Whittier where I primarily worked with students with IEPs to assist them with general education classwork. Working with these smaller groups of students inspired me to pursue a career in special education and becoming a BII was the natural next step.</p>
<h3>What do you like best about working with Cross Country Education?</h3>
<p>Cross Country Education provides an excellent support system when it comes to communication, training, support, and flexibility. Whenever I reach out with an issue regarding my assignment, it is addressed within the next business day. I also appreciate the amount of training that is provided, each one has broadened my knowledge and has given me more confidence to perform in my role.</p>
<h3>What do you like about your experience working at the school you were placed at?</h3>
<p>Working at my long-term school has been truly rewarding due to the small interactions I get to experience with both students and staff. Supporting a student on a day-to-day basis with their behaviors is one thing, but the fulfillment comes from pointing them in the right direction so that they come to the conclusion on their own. In a sense, this position can feel like being a one-on-one mentor to a student when rapport is properly developed. In addition, I am also able to interact with people from all different fields of experience and this has also helped solidify decision in my desired career trajectory.</p>
<h3>What kind of advice would you give to those just starting out in your field?</h3>
<p>No two days in the behavioral field, especially in the school setting, will ever play out the same! Your work setting will be dynamic, you won't always have all the information, and so, frustration may arise. Therefore, the most important advice I can give is to practice patience and to ask as many questions as you can. The more information you have, the more you'll be able to assist and coach in any given context. Being prepared will help you stay less stressed overall and allow you to be present while serving on the clock, and more importantly, present off the clock.</p>
