  of the Month, Miguel Flores! Miguel, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst,
  recently shared some advice for those starting out in the field as well as why
  he chooses Cross Country Education.

<h3>Why did you become a BCBA?</h3>
<p>
  I started my career with a degree in Child Development. All of my experience
  had been primarily with typically developing children. It was at one point in
  my career that I first began working with a child who was diagnosed with a
  developmental disability. During the interaction, I realized that there was
  still a lot that I needed to learn and therefore began working for an ABA
  agency where I received training working as a 1:1 behavior technician. I
  immediately fell in love with the services I was delivering and therefore
  decided to continue in the field of ABA. What I appreciated the most was how
  we were contributing to positive changes in the children and their families'
  lives. I then decided to return to school to receive my Masters of Science
  degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and ultimately sat for and passed the BACB
  exam.

<h3>What do you like about Cross Country Education?</h3>
<p>
  What I like about Direct Ed is the way that the mentorship is set up. I think
  that having someone (that is amazing!) to check-in with such as my lead, makes
  my job that much easier. I also appreciate the admin staff working at Direct
  Ed for providing me with assistance when needed.
</p>

  What have you liked about your experience working at schools with Cross
  Country Education?
</h3>
<p>
  What I like about my experiences with working at school with Cross Country
  Education is the opportunities that have been presented in the school setting.
  I think there has been some great interactions with diverse populations that I
  have learned from. I also of course like working with the students whose teams
  we get to be a part of.
</p>

<h3>What kind of advice would you give to those starting out in your field?</h3>
<p>
  For advice, I would say that first would be to identify what your values are
  and once you do that you can figure out what the next steps are that you will
  take. If you decide that this field is for you, I would then encourage you to
  be extremely organized, professional, and engage in positive behaviors that
  will make people want to interact with you. This will make your and their job
  easier.
</p>
