<h2>Meet Our Educator of the Month, John E.</h2><h3>Why did you become a Behavior Intervention Implementation (BII) Specialist?</h3><p>It sort of made its way into my life. As I continued to seek what it was that I was good at, I noticed I was very good at connecting with our youth. Coming from similar backgrounds of the students I work with, I was able to connect with them and understand what it was that they needed. What these students needed was someone to be patient enough to listen and understand. Understanding that sometimes their ways of communicating are a bit different and having that middle person to help you express that onto the world, can really be life changing. With every push, every incentive, every reminder, every moment of building that rapport, it slowly changed both our lives for the better.</p><h3>What do you like about Cross Country Education (CCE)?</h3><p>CCE has been such a great experience from the start. My recruiter, Diana Walker, is the best. Along with every person in every department I have had the honor to work with. CCE really allows growth to happen. They hold workshops, and have many career opportunities for you to consider, and many great networking opportunities for you as a professional. The people in CCE really take good care of you and they listen.</p><h3>What have you liked about working at schools with CCE?</h3><p>What I’ve liked about working at the schools with CCE has been the great communication that CCE has with the schools. CCE is always a step ahead and ensures that all information is communicated to all parties. They allow a smooth transition into the assignments, and they ensure every question that may arise is always answered.</p><h3>What advice would you give someone starting in your field/profession?</h3><p>The advice that I would give to someone that is starting in my field is to really put your heart and mind into the role. Being a BII is not an easy task, it really demands patience from you. Patience to not only work with our students, but enough patience to realize that we might not always know the right way. It also takes seeking appropriate ways to model good practices to our students. It takes a village to raise a child.</p>
