<h2>Meet Our Special Educator of the Month, ToD Estefania</h2><p>At Cross Country Education, we’re honored to work with the best of the best from across the nation! We take great pride in their shared passion for helping students succeed, and we love passing along their insight to inspire others interested in this rewarding field. This month, we’re spotlighting an amazing Teacher of the Deaf, Estefania C.</p><p>Here’s why Estefania decided to become a ToD, what she enjoys most about working with the Cross Country Education team and schools, and what advice she has for ToDs just embarking on their careers.</p><h3>Why did you become a SpEd provider in your modality?</h3><p>While doing my undergrad studies, I took American Sign Language and through these courses, I met incredible Deaf and Hard of Hearing professors &amp; peers. It was not long before I learned more about their individual stories and the adversity they had to overcome on a daily basis. Still unsure of how I could become an advocate for this community, I sought advice from the dean of my Deaf Education program, and he presented me with the incredible opportunity to fulfill my internship in a total communication classroom at a Regional School for the Deaf Program. That is where my career and love for becoming a Teacher of the Deaf began.</p><h3>What do you like about Cross Country Education?</h3><p>I love CCE because I am able to work with so many incredible students. I love that we travel to multiple school sites throughout the week and work with students of different grade levels with unique needs. It is such a rewarding and interesting career.</p><h3>What have you liked about your experience working at schools with Cross Country Education?</h3><p>The opportunity to meet and collaborate with different teachers and staff at each school has been so incredible. Together I feel that we create a support system not only for our students but for each other as well.</p><h3>What kind of advice would you give to those starting out in your field?</h3><p>Remember your ‘why’. There will be moments where you cannot change the outcome of a situation despite your efforts, but you are making a difference by continuing to show up for your students and advocating for them.
