 Q. Do you recall a specific moment when you realized you wanted to
 contribute to the healthcare profession?


 A. I do! After recruiting for local staffing firms for
 industrial, clerical, IT, and telecom positions to name a few, I accepted an
 HR position as a staffing coordinator at a local hospital. The very moment
 when I began staffing New Grad RNs and sharing in their joy of obtaining their
 life’s goal, I knew that working in a hospital is where I was meant to
 be.&nbsp;&nbsp;


 Q. What do you find most rewarding about working in the healthcare
 industry?


 A. What I find most rewarding is making those matches.
 Finding the right person for the position. The new hires are always so
 grateful and excited. That excitement is contagious!&nbsp;


 Q. Tell us about your journey to Cross Country. What led you to your
 current position with the company?


 A. I had been working as a staffing coordinator for years. I
 was ready for that next chapter. I saw an ad for a Recruiter for Cross Country
 and thought that would be the perfect next step. The benefits were excellent,
 the ad sounded so exciting, and I joined Cross Country.&nbsp;


 Q. What’s your favorite thing about working for Cross Country?


 A. The people! My teammates and Managers. I’ve never worked
 for a company where every day is a happy day. Any time you need assistance,
 someone is always happy and willing to assist. We work but we also have fun!
 Because of Cross Country, I’ve made many of my dreams come true. We are all
 ONE, and that is a wonderful feeling.&nbsp;

 really don’t want to go to work today.”&nbsp;


 Q. What inspires you in your position from day to day?&nbsp;


 A. I’m inspired by the people. Not just the candidates, but
 all Cross Country. Unlike in the past, there is never a day where I wake up
 and think, I really don’t want to go to work today. I feel appreciated,
 respected, and completely supported by everyone.&nbsp;


 Q. What is one of the biggest challenges of working in the healthcare
 staffing industry, in your opinion?


 A. The biggest challenge of course is the shortage of Medical
 Staff. Sometimes you may feel like you’ll never find the right candidate, but
 suddenly, it happens. We have so many different platforms in which we can
 access and recruit candidates that I know I’ll be able to find the right
 person, for the right job.


 Q. Do you have any funny stories when it comes to recruiting in the
 healthcare industry?


 A. Yes. I was enjoying working for the hospital as a staffing
 coordinator, but I wanted more. I wanted to be INSIDE as a clinical staff
 member. I took a break from staffing and began working as a Transporter. I
 didn’t care that it was a huge pay cut. I wanted to work with patients. I
 LOVED it. Even though I was walking eight miles a day, transporting patients
 to CT, Surgery, etc., being with the patients for that brief amount of time
 gave me a new love and appreciation for people. The funny thing is, in my
 second month as a transporter, I was rated #1 for that month out of 60
 transporters; fastest transporter, less time spent en route, and most
 transports in a day, and I’m no spring chicken! I had a Director of Critical
 Care offer me a job as a PCA.&nbsp;


 Q. Do you have any tips or practices for “taking a break” during the
 day?


 A. I don’t like taking too many breaks because I love my job,
 but when I do, I go outside, walk, get some fresh air, and enjoy my dogs. When
 I return, it always feels like a new day has begun.

 Q. What’s one of the biggest changes you’ve noticed or encountered in the
 recruiting industry during the time of COVID?


 A. The biggest change I have noticed during COVID is how
 easily people become afraid. After two years, I know people who still will not
 come out of their homes and begin living again. I advise them to get the facts
 and find the solution. Don’t let your life pass you by. Healthcare today is
 not what Healthcare was 20 years ago, even 10 years ago. Thanks to the
 advancement in healthcare, my brother, who has been HIV positive for 34 years
 is living a wonderful life. That’s amazing! Stop being afraid…


 Q. If you had one piece of advice to provide to someone looking to get into
 the healthcare staffing industry, what would it be?


 A. My advice for someone looking to get into healthcare would
 be to try it. Working in healthcare will change your life. You will have a
 newfound love and appreciation for life and for your fellow man. My job isn’t
 a job. My job is my life. I’m living my best life which is so exciting, and
 fun and every day is a new, different day.
