  Dr. Rhodes shares about her motivation for becoming an OB-GYN, her advice for

    <h3>Why did you become an obstetrician-gynecologist?</h3>
    <p>
      I enjoy taking care of women in all age groups, from adolescence through
      the post-menopausal years. OB-GYN offers the opportunity to develop
      long-term relationships with patients as well as perform surgeries and
      deliver babies!

    <h3>What advice would you give someone starting out as an OB-GYN?</h3>
    <p>
      Take the time to learn about the different work options for OB-GYNs. I've
      worked in many different practice settings: full-time, part-time, private
      practice, employed physician, academic medicine and locum tenens. Don't
      assume there is a one-size-fits-all employment model for OB-GYNs at the
      conclusion of residency training.

    <h3>Why did you choose to work locums?</h3>
    <p>
      Due to the rising costs of running your own practice combined with
      declining reimbursement rates from insurance companies, I initially worked
      locum tenens in order to supplement my practice revenue. With time,
      however, I found that I really enjoyed helping patients and hospitals in
      underserved rural areas. It's quite rewarding to be able to help others
      through locum tenens work.

    <p>

      instrumental in helping me re-enter full scope OB-GYN after not doing a
