Then there&#39;s the <a href="https://www.floridastateparks.org/park/Maclay-Gardens">Alfred B. Macklay Gardens State Park</a> on Thomasville Road with elegant floral gardens, and fishing and boating opportunities at nearby Lake Hall. It&#39;s all part of an extraordinary parks network that shows off what the Tallahassee area has to offer.</p>

<p>Tallahassee is also unique in terms of where it&#39;s located &ndash; just next to the Apalachicola National Forest and situated not too far from Gulf of Mexico beaches.<br />
If you have the time and the transportation, you can check out nearby Lake Talquin State Park, the Ochlockonee wildlife area, or go further into the vast state park network or take a trip to St. George Island or Alligator Point on the gulf.</p>
