In most situations, clients ask for the travel nurse to have at least one year of recent experience in the area/field/specialty of the position that needs to be filled. The reasons for this are very clear. We want to be certain that you are knowledgeable on the most current best practices in your area of care to provide the patients the best outcomes.
	
So, your recent experience from your full-time position will count as experience. You will be able to use your skill sets, knowledge, and wisdom from your past experiences to deliver high quality patient care that will drive great outcomes.
	
It is important that you keep track of courses, workshops, educational opportunities, and training that you are taking to keep current and up to date in best practices. This will allow you to present yourself as knowledgeable and prepared to accept your assignment. Please make certain to communicate your ongoing education to your recruiter so it can be added to your profile when you are presented to the facility.
	
If you are doing any training, such as being a preceptor or training new staff, please share this information with your recruiter. Don’t be shy about your skills and abilities.
