This emergency grace period, while fully supported by the AHA, is ultimately at the discretion of the individual employers and regulatory bodies who require AHA Provider Cards as part of their credentialing process. 

<p>In an effort to help control the spread of COVID-19, the American Heart Association has recommended that employers and regulatory bodies consider extending renewal dates of expiring AHA Provider Cards for up to 60 days. This emergency grace period, while fully supported by the AHA, is ultimately at the discretion of the individual employers and regulatory bodies who require AHA Provider Cards as part of their credentialing process. In addition, the AHA has indicated that it may extend the 60-day grace period even further depending on the evolution of the public health threat caused by COVID-19.</p>
